Ubud Jungle ATV Ride with Lunch

The track

The route mixes four surfaces in ninety minutes: packed jungle trail under bamboo and banana, the raised bunds between working rice paddies, at least one river crossing, and short natural tunnels cut through the valley wall. The operator's own description calls it the longest quad track in the area, which is marketing, but the variety is real — this is not a loop of the same 400 metres.

Slopes and steep inclines are part of it. So is mud, in every month of the year, because the tracks sit in a valley that drains through them. Riders who show up in white trainers learn this at about the four-minute mark.

The pace

A guide rides with the group and sets the speed for whoever is slowest, which is the single most repeated observation in the reviews. Raymond from Australia, riding on 19 August 2026, wrote: "Myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the experience, for fun and excitement, not to mention the laugh you're guaranteed."

If you have ridden before and want to push, say so at the briefing rather than on the track — the guides do open the pace up for confident riders, but they will not guess.

After the ride

The base has a changing room, lockers, hot showers and a covered eating area. Lunch is fried rice or fried noodles with bottled water, served once everyone is clean. On the transfer option the driver waits through all of that, so the listed 1.5 to 9 hour range is about transfers and optional stops, not about riding — some riders add a coffee plantation stop on the way back, as Sarah from Australia did on 24 August 2026.

Pickup or meet at the venue

Both options are sold. Meet-at-venue is cheaper and gets you the morning back; the address arrives by email after booking, and there is free parking at the base for scooters and cars.

If you take the pickup, the time you choose at checkout is your hotel pickup time, not the ride time. The driver reconfirms the day before, normally on WhatsApp, so leave a number that works in Indonesia. How pickups work across the tracks.

Solo or tandem

Tandem is one machine for two people, and only one of you drives. It is the cheaper way to ride and it is the right answer for a parent with a child, but two adults who both want the handlebars should book two singles.

The operator applies a surcharge on-site if a tandem group has an odd number of riders — three friends booking two tandem seats is the version of this that catches people out. The odd-number rule in full.

What it costs beyond the ticket

Photos and video are sold at the base by an independent vendor, in cash. Tips for the guide and driver are excluded. Neither is expensive, but the bases are not card-friendly, so bring rupiah.

If the cave is the point

This track has short natural tunnels, not a cave section. If you want to spend real time underground, the 750-metre tunnel ride at $39 is the one built around it, and the Gorilla Face ride has the photogenic tunnel that exits from a carved gorilla's mouth.

If you are staying in the south

Pickup here covers selected areas of Ubud and South Bali, but the listing that explicitly collects from Canggu, Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur and Nusa Dua is the Barong Caves ride. From Seminyak the drive is longer than the ride, whichever you book.

If you want a whole day
